Tyddyn Llan is well placed to explore the magnificence of Snowdonia and its many
castles and monuments. The Roman City of Chester is only 35 miles away and an equal
distance to the west are the majestic Mawddach and Dyfi estuaries leading to fine
sandy beaches and rocky coves.
We can arrange fishing on the banks of the River Dee. This admirable water has long
slow flowing stretches going into currents and pools. There is excellent grayling
fishing, and also trout and some salmon.
The local area abounds with activities to suit most interests.
Walking from the hotel, via ancient routes and old driving roads, you can explore
and experience the peace, quiet and solitude of this unspoilt landscape. Guided walks
can be arranged with our local and highly qualified guide.
Sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and white water rafting.
Golf - There is an excellent 18 hole course at Llangollen (15 miles), one at Chirk
and an 18 hole course at Bala (8 miles). Clubs can be hired at Llangollen and Chirk.
Shooting - We are centrally placed for excellent pheasant shooting and can also arrange
clay pigeon shooting.
There are also many narrow gauge railways, offering great fun for all the family.
