The menus here are updated each week. May be small changes each day according to
supplies.
Tyddyn Llan is now considered to be one of Wales' finest restaurants, with high rating
in the 2013 Good Food Guide 6/10, Michelin Star, and former ‘True Taste North Wales’
Restaurant of the Year. We are committed to using only the highest quality seasonal
ingredients, many of which arrive daily from our local network of suppliers. Meat
and game come from local estates through our vigilant butcher, and the majority of
fish direct from the Welsh coastline.
Although we are as supportive of as much Welsh produce as possible, we look further
afield for diver caught scallops from Scotland, Somerset smoked eel, Buffalo mozzarella
flown in from Naples and Label Anglais chickens from Wyndham Farm.
Lunch and Dinner menus (see right for samples from the current week) are adapted
daily to reflect the availability of our ingredients. Lunch, which is served Fridays
and Saturdays, and other days by prior arrangement, offers an à la carte menu (see
right), and also a special set menu priced from £19.50 for two courses plus dessert
if you wish for £6.00.
Dinner at £55 per person is a three-course meal with six or seven starters and main
courses to choose from, cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy and an ample choice of desserts
and ice creams together with canapés and a small appetiser to commence your meal.
Two courses may taken for £45.
We also offer two tasting menus, of six or nine courses with coffee and petits fours.
The six-course tasting menu is £70.00, and nine courses: £85.00.
Sunday lunch, which is always very popular, is £40.00 for three courses with ample
choice, and always includes a roast of Welsh Black Beef and Yorkshire pudding. And
again, a special set menu offers two course for £19.50, plus dessert if you wish
for £6.00.
As well as our regular dinner menu on Sunday evenings there is also a three course
supper menu as part of our special Sunday package.
Note there is no service charge levied at Tyddyn Llan.
Vegetarians are well taken care of, but a little extra notice will guarantee that
little something extra special. The kitchen on request will always accommodate for
serious dietary requirements and allergies.
A selection of dishes is available from our menu which are adapted to appeal to children's
tastes and appetites, and offered as a small children's menu.
The Wine List
Tyddyn Llan boasts an award-winning wine list (see right) featuring wines from most
of the leading wine producing countries of the world, many of which are sourced from
little known wineries with small productions where the proprietor is actively involved
in the wine making.
Our wine list is constantly evolving as we continue tasting new wines and searching
out the best balance between quality and cost to keep the choice of about 250 wines
alive and interesting. With money not so freely available we try our very best to
keep the prices down by keeping mark-ups reasonable on all our wines. We hope that
you will agree that our wines are very fairly priced and include some bargains compared
with many other restaurants.
Food and wine matching is always fun and when you have our Tasting Menu we can now
offer wines by the glass chosen for each course (with the exception of pudding) at
£25 per person for six-courses, or £35 per person for our nine-course menu. We have
had several popular wine dinners so far this year and have plenty more planned.
We offer a variety of wines served by the glass and carafe, together with a selection
of half bottles.
Our list is backed by a broad range of apéritifs and our digestif list featuring
an excellent range of Cognacs, Armagnacs, Calvados and Whiskies as well as Ports,
Eaux de Vie, Marcs and Liqueurs.
