CHRISTMAS 2016

We offer two and three day breaks.

Christmas Eve, Saturday December 24th. 

Afternoon tea will be served on arrival from 3.00pm for you to recover from your long journey. This will be followed by a five-course dinner following a French theme for Christmas Eve.

CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER

Canapés with Champagne

Salad of artichoke, French beans and foie gras with hazel nuts and truffle

Griddled scallops with cauliflower purée, ventrèche bacon, caper and raisin dressing

Roast wild bass with laverbread beurre blanc

Fillet of Welsh Black beef with shallot and thyme purée, potato fondant

Christmas Day, Sunday December 25th.

Start the special day with a light continental breakfast in the dining room.

A four-course lunch of traditional British fare will be served between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.

In the evening we shall serve a festive buffet from 8.30pm, so you can enjoy and end this special day at your own pace.

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH

Mulled wine or glass of Champagne with canapés

Pumpkin soup

Dressed crab and langoustine mayonnaise, fennel and pea shoot salad

Parfait of duck livers and foie gras, onion chutney

Salad of roast beetroot, buffalo Mozzarella, balsamic dressing and pine nuts

Terrine of oak and hot smoked salmon, cucumber salad and horseradish cream

‘Label Anglais’ free-range bronze turkey, bread sauce, apricot and chestnut stuffing, cranberry relish and pigs in blankets

Roast Madgett’s Farm goose, sage and onion stuffing, prune and bacon rolls, apple sauce

Roast sirloin of Welsh Black beef, Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce

Roast turbot, leek risotto, red wine sauce

Colston Bassett Stilton and Keen’s Cheddar with celery and grapes

Christmas pudding with brandy sauce

Plum soup with poached blackberries and cinnamon ice cream

Boxing Day, Monday December 26th.

A full breakfast will be served until 10.00am.

Lunch will be available from 12.45 -2.00pm (optional £40.00).

In the evening we shall present a six-course dinner of Italian festive favourites featuring wild mushrooms, truffles and seafood.

Note. To walk off any indulgence we offer walking guides of any level, or of course you can just lounge around on our comfy sofas.

Tuesday December 27th.

A full breakfast menu will be served from 8.30am, before your journey home.

We will be serving dinner in the evening if you wish to stay longer. And we open as normal the rest of the week, dinner each evening, and lunch on Friday and Saturday. And there are special prices.

December 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th.

Enjoy a one or two-day break between Christmas and New Year’s beginning with afternoon tea including Bara Brith and shortbread, your choice from our extensive dinner menu, and followed by the full works for breakfast. Prices from £230 for one night, £440 for two nights in a standard room, or add an extra £30 for a large room, or £60 for a best room per night. Prices are per couple.

Two nights in a Large room: £450 per person starting Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Two nights in a Best room: £500 per person starting Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Three nights in a Standard room: £595 per person from Christmas Eve.
Three nights in a Large room: £675 per person from Christmas Eve.
Three nights in a Best room: £750 per person from Christmas Eve.

Single supplement – £75 per night on any room

NEW YEAR 2016/7

We offer one and two-day breaks.

You are welcome to take your two-day break arriving on either Friday December 30th or Saturday December 31st.

New Year’s Eve, Saturday December 31st.

Celebrate with Champagne and canapés, followed by a six-course dinner with music and dancing from the acclaimed  ‘Hot Foot Jazz Band’, sing along to Al Langsyne at midnight and watch our fireworks display to see in the New Year 2017.

New Year’s Day, Sunday January 1st.

Breakfast will be served until 10.00am. At lunch and dinner we will offer our full menus.
